Questions & Answers

Are Siberian Huskies part wolf?

No. The Siberian Husky is a domesticated pure bred dog and has been for many centuries. They are sometimes mistaken for wolves, and they are sometimes used in movies to depict wolves, but they are most certainly not wolves or part wolf.

Can Siberians have different colored eyes?

Yes. This is fairly common in the breed. One eye may be blue while the other is brown.

Is there something wrong with an eye that is both brown and blue?

No. This is called a "pinto or brindle eye." It is also fairly common in the breed. One or both eyes may be all blue with a brown pie shaped wedge, or all brown with a blue wedge. It is simply a matter if pigmentation. This too is perfectly acceptable in the breed.

Can I let my Husky run, and would he will come back when he is ready?

No, we cannot stress this enough Siberian Huskies must never be trusted off leash. If you just let your Husky run, he or she will likely not come back or just go home with someone else. We have heard of too many dogs being hit by cars because they were allowed to run off-leash.

Do Huskies smell and should they be bathed?

Huskies do not have a very oily coat, meaning that do not have any of the usual doggy odour. You should not bathe your Husky too often because it will dry out their fur and their skin.

Are Siberian Huskies hypoallergic?

Siberian Huskies are not hypoallergenic canines as these canines are known to be moderate shedders and they also produce a fair amount of dander which is one of the main causes of allergies in most people.
